Welcome! Today I’m featuring a spotlight/guest post on the Great Escape Virtual Book Tour for Christmas is Murder: A McKinley Mystery by Carolyn Arnold!

Mistletoe and Mischief…
“Everything you could want in a Christmassy novella and more! The opening sentence sets the scene for comfort (and joy!) by entering in a wintery wonderland of falling snow… I loved the humor with the blinking nose and hoofs, the chase at the parade ,and the little jokes between Sean and Sara… This cozy mystery will bring a smile to your face and is perfect for a quick read to get you in that holiday spirit! I have not read any of the McKinley Series novellas before, but plan to do so!”
–Wifetime of Happiness
Christmas has always been a favorite holiday of mine even though I just started celebrating in 2016—and maybe not for the traditional reason. But it’s struck me as magical for as long as I can remember. I love the way the lights sparkle and people come together. It’s a time of goodwill and love that I wished people exuded in abundance all year round. Can you imagine how amazing the world would be then?
In my novella Christmas is Murder, I strove to capture the magic of the season in every chapter. Even the titles are pulled from popular Christmas songs. But despite Albany being the perfect picture of a winter wonderland, there’s a dark cloud that’s come over Sean and Sara’s neighborhood.
The house next door to them burns to the ground, and the sweet couple who lived there both died in the fire. While the fire department is ruling holiday-related hazards as the cause, Sara’s intuition won’t let her accept that and she needs to find out exactly what happened. This case will have the McKinleys toeing the line between what’s legal and what’s not in order to get to the truth.

Book Overview:
Mistletoe and mischief…
Albany’s the perfect image of a winter wonderland, and Sean and Sara’s friend Jimmy is going to be Santa Claus for the upcoming Christmas parade. The trees and decorations have been selected and the gifts have been purchased. The season has truly cast its magical spell–until Sean and Sara’s neighbors die in a horrible house fire.
While the fire department ruled holiday-related hazards as the cause, Sara suspects there’s more to it. Her determination to find the truth has her and Sean toeing the line between what’s legal and what’s not.
As they sort out fact from fiction, the McKinleys make the final decision about whether or not they should open a private investigation firm.
