Beat the Backlist Challenge – 2017

Spines of books with the text NovelKnight presents Beat the Backlist: A reading Challenge

We all have that “to be read” pile on our bedside table or our “to-read” list on Goodreads that just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I chose this challenge, hosted by NovelKnight over a couple of the other “to be read” challenges out there because this one doesn’t require you to already own the books. Since I really don’t buy many print books, my “to-read” list doesn’t have a lot of things on it that I actually own. This challenge will allow me to work through that list whether I have an e-book version or whether it’s something I borrow from the library.

This one doesn’t have specific levels, so I’m going to choose 50 books as a goal. Maybe I’ll knock off more from my list, who knows, but with all the other challenges I’m participating in, I think 50 is a good start. Plus, that’s almost one a week, so when combined with the newer books I’m reading and reviewing as well, I think that’s a great number to start with.

Along with the main challenge, there’s a separate Hogwarts House Cup mini challenge where you can join a Hogwarts house and for every page you read of an item off your backlist, every review you write for a backlist item, etc. gains you points for your house. I’m a Ravenclaw – Let’s go Ravenclaw!!!

If you’re interested in joining the challenge, click on the button/link at the bottom and it will take you to the challenge’s main page.
